Retro Futuristic

In this second endeavor to challenge perceptions of reality, I embarked on a project that had long been on my mind. Financial constraints had previously hindered my ability to bring this vision to fruition, but my recent exploration of AI enabled me to recreate the entire world in just one day.

As before, I generated concepts for each image before creating elements for the model to interact with. Once everything was in place, I collaborated with my stylist to curate wardrobes that would suit each look. My primary objective was to reimagine a different world inspired by mid-century aesthetics. I envisioned how historical advertising campaigns might have integrated the "futuristic" appeal of mid-century modern design to promote specific brands.

One concept involved reimagining a cola advertisement infused with humor from the "Fallout" franchise, featuring the fictional brand "Nuka-Cola." Another idea centered on a perfume campaign inspired by a Western aesthetic, utilizing a painted desert backdrop and distinctly artificial props, such as a wooden fence. As you explore these images, you'll notice a playful blend of old and new presented in a whimsical manner.

During the creation process, I discovered that introducing deliberate imperfections into an otherwise perfect world enhanced the interactivity of the images. These small flaws trick the viewer's mind into distinguishing certain elements as real while perceiving others as fabricated. This ability to blur the lines between reality and artifice is what I consider the success of this series. Ultimately, while the model is the sole real element, everything else exists within the realm of imagination.
